Full Speed, No Load !!

In a power plant if turbine is running at full speed but it is not connected to Power grid than it is called full speed, no load.

Meaning is very deep, if turbine is not connected to power grid, then full speed is of no use. It doesn't matter if turbine is running or not if it is not helping in generating power.

There are times when our efforts are like this mechanical example. Our efforts should be such that at least they should result into something fruitful and meaningful, and at the end profitable to you and people are you.

I think it is very easy to fine people in the organization we work who are at full speed but with no load.

Global financial crisis vs TATA NANO

Its made very obvious by the news channels that global economy is going through economical crisis. Again the center stage is set at US. And I always feel that there is NEWS reality and there is Ground Reality. Most of the time both are worlds apart.

Amid this crisis news we at Gujarat got a huge news of TATA motors coming near to Ahmedabad and planning to setup a NANO (Indian SMALL Car Rs 1.20Lacs) plant. This news is welcomed with enthusiasm and it seems it will give a boost to the Gujarat's economy.

Two very contradictory news !!

I hope Global financial crisis is not as grave as it is potrayed in News channels and NANO will bring MEGA benefits for Gujarat.

While driving in Ahmedabad...

Driving in my city is challenging. Driving is exciting here. While driving in Ahmedabad I go through lots of emotions and thoughts. Emotions involve anger, smile, pity, sadness, …..

In India we have layers after layers of society. This is easy to observe wherever you go in India. Especially when you drive around and look at the people around you in the traffic.

When I drive first reaction I have for fellow drivers around me is anger. Because they are not driving the way I want them to JJ. Then there is sudden change in my reaction, which tells me that common they have their own mind and life, which is reflecting in their driving. I come back to steady state.

While driving I see rickshaw drivers driving at their own pace and in their own route. Here at Ahmedabad they are famous for sneaking in your path. The old ones have absolute sense of life; the life philosophy they tell you is amazing. The comments about current affairs are fun to listen to. The young ones are two types, few reckless and few with some hope in their eyes to do better in life. I had met one fellow who was part time rickshaw driver and full time in some medicine business.

Then there are bicycle drivers. These are hard working but less earning people. Of course these include few students. The hard working people have tough time on road, as they are slowest in the traffic everybody wants them to stay away. I had met one fellow who is cycling every day to work, I asked him about it and told him that he is fitter then I am. Then from nowhere he said even though he is fit and clears fitness test for police recruitment, he fails in personal interview. In 5minutes I could see his pain and pleasure. I wished him good luck, he smiled and departed.

Actually it is like every fast vehicle on road wants the slower one in front to move as quickly as possible as if only they have right to drive. This thought brings me to drivers of big cars. First of all they can’t pass by others easily as they themselves are big. The slow drivers think why the hell should I move for this big car fellow.

Everybody on road wants others to move out of their way, but they cant see that they are also in someone else’s way.

Then there are bikers. The college boys who drive them are most reckless. But it’s their age, which drives the bike. The age of show off. They break rules without their knowledge. They put helmet everywhere except on their head. They are in hurry to reach the place where they can talk nonsense with friends. I have been there J.

On road there are people who just walk. They also have the tough time.

While driving in Ahmedabad you got to anticipate anything from anywhere.

And how can I forget the shark of the road. The AMTS buses. I pity their drivers who have to reach on time without hitting anyone. People have faintest of idea that how difficult is to maneuver big bus in traffic. Everyone is against him.

On crossroad people forget about their safety and others safety. At junction people are the bridge they start fighting with each other so that one of them can pass by. In fighting they both fell in a valley. Then two goats come same way, but they don’t fight, one of them lies down and other one just jumps of him. This way they crossed bridge for their rest of the life.

Same way we need to lie down sometimes while driving so that people can pass by and we have fewer accidents.

People on road are with lots of junk in their mind, lots of tensions, lots of worries, lots of happiness, lots of eagerness, so they drive accordingly. Have some patience.most aggressive. I have seen people jumping on junction just to beat you in imaginary race and then drive slowly.

The traffic police have tough time handling educated people on any junction. I salute them for their patience.

I remember one story, which is very fitting to our traffic scenario. The story goes like this, there was a very narrow bridge connecting two hills. Only one person can walk in either direction. In a morning two dogs come from opposite direction. Upon reaching middle of

India Vs USA Part-1

When I was in USA I feel as if whole world is at war. When you see news over there it’s all about world crisis. War on Terror they call it and they show news of Afghanistan, Iraq and talks with Iran, NKorea, Venezuela etc. Watching all this I always felt that we are facing some world crisis.

Now I have come back to my homeland, and staying at Ahmedabad. And now I feel as if only India is living in various crises and the rest of the world is very peaceful. The news channels are restricted to crisis in India. And I must say that my country is so big that no news stays in demand for more than three days. There is always something, which is breaking on news channel.

When you meet me………

When you meet me after few months, do not expect me to be same as you had meet me last time. If possible, meet me everyday as if you are meeting me for the first time. I am new everyday. Moreover I am definitely new when you meet me after a long time.
When we meet for the first time we present our best face forward. So, when you meet me, meet me as if you are meeting me for the first time.
This is another way to be present in the present, and this is the most precious present you give to yourself and others.

Blogging is related to Global Warming!!

I had read somewhere that all those undeleted mails in your mail box are contributing towards Global Warming. The reason as you would assume, is the space required to keep them alive. So, there was a comment asking us to delete all unwanted emails. I did that activity and felt I have done social service and reduced some of the warming.

But suddenly I had this thought, which is asking me to stop blogging. As, it would also cosnume some storage. And I am not sure it is even worth writing on this crazy world calld WWW. Who th e hell is reading your thoughts.

Anyway there is no place for listeners in this world. So, keep writing and talking. Both are required to warm your EGO.

So, Do not Block the Blog.

Growing Economy is a Global Crisis!!

According to some smart people in developed countries many of the current global crisis, such as food and oil are due to change in consumption pattern in developing countries.May be they are partially right!!!But if we see a basic nature of human kind, we would find that we like to grow. We want to put our name on as many things as possible to feel great and powerful. So, if developing countries are consuming more of everything then it is quite obvious, people of growing economy wants to expand their footprint whether others like it or not.As far as people are working towards their constructive dreams others should not have a problem. For years people in developing countries have dreamt of owning a house, car, the list goes on. Now is the time when they have started to achieve those.Developed nations have reached a level which developing nations have just begun to touch. Developed nations have consumed, consume and consume for years. Now they want to stop others and deny their dreams!!On other side nature of the business is such that most of the companies can not survive without doing business with developing countries. They need to cash in on growing economies. They have to motivate the consumption appetite of middle class in developing countries.I don't have numbers but I am assuming that fuel consumption by a fighter plane is way higher then somebody driving a city car in developing nation. There are way too many contradictions in our lives.Nobody from developed nations can deny on basis of global warming, a middle class family in developing nations from buying any product which adds to their comfort. People in developing nations have waited years for such things and I am sure they would buy more and more in coming years. And their buying would keep companies in developed nations going. Purchasing power of growing nations would make sure that people in developed nations have enough money to run their global warming compliant products!!!People in developed nations have started to buy a fuel economical car after seeing the price increase, not because they were worried about global warming. But after all these, I believe that we all will still keep growing amidst crisis. We will create more problems and these problems will keep us busy in finding their solutions. Life will go on!!

Funny rickshaw drivers and delayed flights

It’s been quite some time that I am staying at Bangalore and from routine observation I feel that rickshaw drivers are the most amazing people you will meet here.

I think at most of the places you will find that once you ask any rickshaw driver for a ride they will obliged and will take you to your destination, you may fight for fare but that’s ok. Now the Bangalore rickshaw drivers are little different. Right in the morning you go ask them for a ride and they would bluntly deny. Its beyond my understanding, how can you deny a ride. If you are lucky they would take you, but you will have to pay heavy price for it. Again they will bluntly ask for double fare or one half fares. But I find this very funny, I enjoy their denial. They are using our need to full extent and making good money in the city which has become little costly to live in. in this scenario where you have no choice but to pay more and ride, we had totally exciting experience. We were 7 friends and we were coming from late dinner party, we thought we would need two rickshaws and will have to pay double the fare. But surprisingly this rickshaw driver came with an offer which we could not deny. He said I will take you all but with double fare. It was beneficial to both the parties. We had a really good laugh about it.

My flight experience is also very exciting. Recently I was going back to my hometown for Diwali, and I was traveling by Spicejet, a low fare airlines. From my past experience I knew that this flight would be delayed as usual and I will reach very late. So I was ready for delay. I was all prepared for delayed journey. But Spcicejet guys added little humour and gave many passengers a new experience. One week before the journey, they started sending smses announcing that scheduled flight has be pre poned by 10minutes, so make a note of it. As 6 smses were not enough, they sent an email, also I got to calls with prerecorded messages, my parents got a call at home, and then they called me to convey the message. After all this jugglery ultimately flight was delayed as I had thought and it started one and half hour after the new scheduled time.

As Indian aviation business is booming, and it will grow even more, this things are expected. But I should give all credit to the airline staff who handles the passengers with lot of patience and respect. There are situations where flights have been cancelled or delayed by several hours that are the time when airline staff have to really face the angry customers. But they handle it quite nicely.

But I enjoy these journey negotiations. I get good laugh out of this. I like such situations as I don’t have to do much but plan dynamically and wait. The good part is that I get to observe people with different emotions.

Sitting quiet

We look for every excuse to keep our self engage.

We are scared if we have to spend a little time with ourself alone. Here watching TV or reading book doesn’t count as alone time. Alone time is going within.

The moment we stop doing and start watching our thoughts and sit quiet that the beginning of self-realization and very simple form of meditation.

It is probably the most difficult and avoided activity in our life.

Though it looks so simple, you have nothing to do but sit and close your eyes. Spend five minutes and it will feel like an eternity. You got to sit watch your thoughts and use your inner voice to filter out all the unnecessary and negative.

This is the best way to take life with both hands to enjoy and cherish.

Sit quietly and stay fit.
